Budapest Airport
Budapest Airport is proud to serve Budapest as the only major international airport in Hungary. In 2008 we had 8.4 million customers and 117 000 air traffic movements and despite the crisis earlier in the year, we will again exceed 8 million customers demonstrating that a recovery has commenced.
Budapest Airport is ideally located within 2 hours flying time of almost all important European destinations from East and West, North and South. With up to 91 destinations serviced by 33 airlines, Budapest offers unique route networks.
Budapest Airport is probably the only major city airport that caters for both traditional and low-cost airlines. While historic Terminal 1 is devoted exclusively to low-cost carriers (with a convenient 30-minute train transfer to downtown Budapest), Terminal 2A services all scheduled full-service Schengen flights and Terminal 2B is the base for all full-service non-Schengen flights.
Budapest Airport has set itself the goal of becoming the most successful airport in the region. In order to reach that aim, the company has launched a 261-million-euro development project entitled “BUD Future”. The BUD Future project will encompass a new, centrally located terminal building called SkyCourt which will further enhance our customer offering.
